Bachelor’s in Design is a established four year degree course offered in more than 38 universities across India excluding about 17 Government recognised schools.
Almost 19 disciplines for specialisation in broadly 5 categories of Design exist some are for Bachelor’s degree and some for Master’s.

It has more to do with creative thinking and communication through visuals rather than just copying painting or drawing. Design Thinking is the next Buzz word for 2020.
It plays a vital role, One has to apply much learnt in 10+2 sciences and mathematics. But scores of 12th are not taken into consideration for creating the merit list. it is purely on basis of Interviews, hands on Studio tests and thoughtful creative works from past in the Portfolio.

Architects can convert all the abilities mentioned earier into wealth.
A student from M.Des. from one of the Government Schools was offered a 72 lakhs package by Mc Kinsey in year 2015 in campuses.
And one student from a fashion institute was given a 45.6 lakhs per annum package while getting selected through campus interviews.
Sky is the limit. I won’t say much after this.
I can say remuneration is pretty descent for both genders.
You can be a professional consultant, freelance or get into jobs if it suits you. With engineering or many other degrees it is not possible to run a full fledged consultancy.
You are not restricted from going in other discipline classes. You can sit anywhere you wish in the design school campuses.
Girls find the degree more empowering because wherever on this earth they have to move with their families they always find a decent job.
As it is Globally in demand place doesn’t matter.

Also private colleges exams like Pearl / SEED etc.

Observe, get out of comfort zone and routine life.

Aptitude can’t be built overnight nor in a week, nor a month, it needs constant food for thought. Do you agree? Yes or No.
Kids who see encyclopaedias, read non-academic books, novels, see movies, Build structures from very initial days of childhood have different outlook towards things.
It starts building the day you are exposed to this world …. The day “Seeing” happens that very day till the day you give the aptitude test each and every day counts and contributes.

I did not take an informed decision while selecting a career, I did not know then what is the raw material needed for being a designer or being an architect.

And main reason is that you as a student need to scrap off all your conditioning of the brain done in the 10+2 system of education and start afresh. We call first year of architecture or design as the kindergarten of design school.
